We are delighted to tell you that the Free School application Linden Bridge and West Hill School submitted has been approved and progressed to the pre-opening phase by the Department for Education.
This will mean the development of a new Surrey school based upon Linden Bridge. We are so excited at the prospect of extending our good work, educating and supporting more young people with autism and their families.
The final decision to open any free school depends on the Secretary of State entering into a legal contract – the funding agreement – with the academy trust. The Secretary of State will only sign a funding agreement if she is satisfied that there is a suitable site for the school that provides good value for money; and that the school will be ready to deliver a good standard of education, with a viable and sustainable number of pupils from its first day of operation.
We are currently working with the DfE to secure a suitable site and will keep you posted as the project progresses.
